The faculty of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering at DU has a new Air-conditioning lab. Inaugurated on Nov. 29th, the state of the art lab was built as a result of cooperation between FEME, Al-Maleh Air-conditioning Corp., and a number of international corporations
.
Prof. Wael Mualla, President of DU, noted during the inaugural ceremony the importance of training SEME students in the best practices in the field. Well trained graduates are essential to supporting development plans in Syria, which in turn reflects positively on the sustainability of development. DU president also noted the significant research role that SEME play in our country.
FEME’s Dean, Prof. Hashem Warkosak, stressed the importance of having this new lab as it assists students in applying what they learn in theory, especially as cooling and air-conditioning have become vital skills for students.
The 250 sqm lab enables students to conduct research and psychometric air experiments, essential to understanding cooling and air-conditioning.
