On April 12th, Dr. Jamal Abbas, Secretary of the Party Branch at Damascus University ,and Dr. Wael Mualla, President of Damascus University, officially opened the new university guest house near the Center of Radio and Television near Kefar Sousse.The guesthouse will accommodate guests of the universities such as scientific and academic delegations from Arab and foreign countries.The total area of the house is 3000 sqm spread out across three floors and a basement. The house contains five suites, 32 equipped rooms, a restaurant, and reception halls in addition to gardens, a sports room, warehouses, and parking for up to 67 guests.The opening of the guesthouse will help the university save funds it was originally using to house guests in hotels.The house was designed by the late Dr. Radwan Tahlawi, Professor of Architectural Design, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Damascus.The inauguration was attended by Dr. Fatina Al-Shall, Vice President for Open Education, and Dr. Abbas Sunduq, Secretary of Damascus University, as well as a number of deans of colleges and the Director of Engineering Affairs for the university.
